Installation
Is it a germ, a cocoon in the phase of hatching? A hybrid form between animal and plant, this sculpture evokes life in gestation—suspended, fragile, mutant. The chrysalis’ transformation is a metaphor for the mutation needed in our relationship to the living. Its spatial unfolding results from a collective weaving made by residents. A prefiguration of a new world woven by our imaginations, like the metamorphosis of caterpillar into butterfly.
