A poetic approach to the birth of a mountain: its germ is held in a woven structure of wild clematis resembling a seed. The work links the history of the site (a former farming estate), its surroundings and its present (ECIM, a space for artistic creation). “Birth of a Mountain” stands like a beacon in the landscape, a marker akin to a cairn; its openwork character takes in the surrounding space. A meeting between the immutable nature of the mineral and the ephemeral nature of the plant: two elements in tension, one wrapping the other in a net. When this plant weaving comes apart, the mineral element will collapse, imploding from within, in this belly of air.
