Installation
This installation brings together two plants, the vine and wild clematis. Both woody, they develop similar climbing strategies with tendrils, small spiralling stems, appendages that let them cling to supports and reach for the light. With its succession of coils, the installation symbolises evolution and momentum: each loop is a cycle of evolution, a stage of transformation. On the Pressoria site, dedicated to the history and making of champagne, the spirals evoke its phases (vine work, harvest, pressing, fermentation, blending, bottling, ageing, riddling, disgorging, dosage, dressing). Installation made in Aÿ-en-Champagne at Pressoria, for the fifth edition of Vignart, a festival of contemporary art and land art in the heart of the Champagne vineyards.
